The band are quickly establishing themselves as one of Sweden’s most compelling international new acts. Blending emotionally charged lyrics with a powerful, dynamic sound, the band is fronted by David Nilsson, whose rich voice has earned comparisons to legends like Roy Orbison and praise from industry icons like Neil Sedaka, Meat Loaf, and BBC Radio 2’s Johnnie Walker.

Their dedicated fanbase is growing fast. With over 27 million views on YouTube, 50,000+ subscribers, 450,000+ Spotify streams, and a strong social media presence, the band is building real momentum.

Their music has received consistent radio airplay across Sweden, including on Radio P4. Tracks like Prison, Tack För Allt, and Friday Again have been in steady rotation over the past two years.

In 2025, the band released their debut album, Stop The Train, followed by a nationwide tour that brought their powerful live show to concert halls and music venues across Sweden—including Trollhättan, Härnösand, Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Vara Concert Hall. Their growing reputation has also taken them beyond Sweden’s borders, with performances in Oslo, Norway and Zürich, Switzerland adding to their international momentum. The tour drew audiences from around the world, with fans flying in from the U.S., Brazil, South Africa, Poland, Denmark, and the UK to catch the band live.

Live, the band performs as a stripped-down trio or a full eight-piece ensemble featuring some of Sweden’s top freelance musicians. Their shows are a dynamic mix of soulful ballads and uplifting heartland rock, drawing inspiration from Springsteen, and the sounds of the ’60s through ’80s. With nearly a decade of live experience together, David, Mattias, and Jesper bring undeniable chemistry and energy to every stage—whether in intimate settings or venues with 1,000+ capacity.

David Nilsson & The Bon Vivants are ready to take their unforgettable live show and emotionally rich music to an even bigger stage.

Quotes from the music industry

“It was really very, very, good. I should tell you they have all these tribute bands. None of those singers can touch you on ‘2 out of 3’.”

Meat Loaf, about David’s version of ‘Two out of three ain’t bad’

“Loved David Nilsson, what was that song you played, the best thing I’ve heard in ages.”

Johnnie Walker, BBC Radio 2

“I am delighted with David Nilsson’s performance of ‘Waiting’, a song that I consider to be one of my ‘forgotten children’. When I first heard David’s voice, I found it very reminiscent of the great Roy Orbison. He’s done a very good job with the song and I’m confident that he will find great success in his future musical endeavors.”

Neil Sedaka

“Det här är personligt, går rakt in i hjärtat, som att få läsa någons dagbok och stundvis rör sig alltihopa där uppe med Mellencamp och Springsteen. Största favoriten för mig är “Prison”. Den är för Ullevi med jättepublik. Där rivs alla murar mellan lyssnare och sändare.”

Eva Eastwood, about ‘Stop The Train’ album

“…och så en åsikt: Det handlar om att jag nu ska bjuda er på en av Sveriges absolut bästa sångare.”

Angelique Hvalgren, P4 Väst
